Water is an important component to living a healthy
lifestyle, but who doesn’t enjoy a nice refreshing soda every now and then?
Although having an occasional soda isn’t detrimental to your health, there are
so many benefits to drinking water. Water aids in the regulation of body
temperature and transports nutrients and oxygen through the body removing
harmful toxins and waste products. Have you ever noticed when you’re feeling
thirsty you also feeling slightly tired or fatigued? Dehydration can have
negative effects on the body such as fatigue, and can also elevate the body
temperature. On average, a person should consume at least 8 eight-ounce glasses
of water each day, and possibly even more if you partake in heavy physical
activity. Sodas on the other hand, when consumed in large quantities, can
provoke health complications. Ample amounts of sugar may cause a spike in blood
pressure, which causes an increase in insulin, forcing the liver to work
overtime. At this point, the sugar is then converted into fat and over time may
lead to a more serious medical disorder: diabetes. The next time you’re thirsty
and want a cold and satisfying beverage, reach for a nice glass of water! Your
body will thank you for it!

Happy Holidays From Mountain Glacier
We know that this is the time of year water consumption is reduces
due to cold weather. Which is why we would like to remind you that it is
important to continue to drink up to 8 - 8 ounces glasses of water a day for
your optimal health achievement. In the winter, we tend to eat richer
food as the temperature drops. Water is needed to aid digestion of the
food and also to keep your skin hydrated and looking radiant through the dry
and cold months. If the cold weather has you avoiding water, try
alternatives like drinking hot water with a lemon or adding more soups to your
diet. For more winter hydrating tips, be sure to check out our Pure
Newsletter. Happy Holidays from all of us at Mountain Glacier.
